EXPERIENTIAL ELEMENTS

The new flagship branch of Hume Bank in Albury, regional Victoria gave Studio Tate the opportunity to rethink traditional bank design through an experiential lens, resulting in an open plan space with a customer experience focus; reflecting the community values of the bank’s origins, to support people in their communities for life.

Mixed materiality works cohesively with colour throughout the branch, manifesting in semi-private and private meeting spaces, banquette seating in warm burgundy, a self-serve lobby, and an iPad bar with a terrazzo bench offering online tutorials. Terrazzo also tops the main oak timber counter, while ceramic tiles feature in the entrance and on a blue curved wall that has a wayfinding feel, with a nod to the blue recently used in Hume’s recent re-branding.

This branch is the first of its kind for Hume, breaking down barriers between staff and customers and will set the tone for more to come.
