Mercure Hotel Pakenham was envisioned as warm and welcoming whilst being robust and intelligently considered. Tasked with space planning and design for the low-rise development, the studio and client were inspired by the nearby Pakenham Racecourse to explore ‘a day at the races’.

With the business traveller in mind, rooms were designed for maximum amenity and functionality. Integrated and thoughtful features such as luggage storage upon entry, easily accessible mini bar, plus workstation and lounge address the guests’ requirements for work and rest. Intelligent planning for the food and beverage and conference spaces includes transportable joinery and retractable walls to ensure flexibility for the restaurant to act as a multifunctioning space.
