Workshop Brothers Riverside Quay

Driven by the desire to create a transformative hospitality experience, Workshop Brothers Riverside Quay by Studio Tate is an imaginative and uniquely vibrant Riverside Quay destination. A welcome contrast to neighbouring retailers, its marigold interior sets the mood for relaxed optimism, celebrating the site and enlivening its surrounds.

Tasked with designing a space representative of established business values, this characterful eatery conveys strong personality. Lively, playful and dynamic, the space is skilfully resolved through quality materials and exceptional finish. More than “just another café”, Workshop Brothers is a convivial hub that provides customers with a unique sojourn from the everyday.

Born from a narrative inspired by the great brassieres of New York City, Studio Tate’s execution of nuance and maturity in finishes is reflective of this design source. Necessitating materials pliable to the hands of time and the practicalities of hospitality environments, quality and intelligent application was paramount.

Strategically placed orb sconces from Schots Emporium cast shadow play on curved timber mouldings and an arched threshold detail, accentuating the luxuriously 8-meter-high ceilings. Warm timber dowel cladding to the exterior of the bar softens deeply textured granite benchtops. Tan leather seats and suede bench tops create a luxurious depth of tactility, and when paired with a checkerboard floor wonderfully offset the vibrant palette.

With a nuanced realisation of Workshop Brothers’ brand philosophy, Studio Tate has delivered a resolved visual identity that encourages intrigue and imagination whilst injecting its surrounds with a liveliness that inspires.
