O Residence

Studio Tate usually works across full design projects from inception through to post-completion, but on this project we made an exception and were brought in to take care of the loose furniture package for an older home that was being renovated. We had a great connection with the client and appreciated her sense of style so we didn’t want to miss the opportunity to work together. One of her biggest requirements was that the furniture be robust and durable – with three young boys in the family that was non negotiable!

We worked to ensure that the furniture created a story that could be read as part of the broader design developed by the architects, Pleysier Perkins. The design narrative was centered around a progressive colour palette exploring shades of pinks, blues and yellows. As part of our response we sourced unique fabrics to make custom cushions for several pieces and also selected lighting. Another important factor was integrating the interiors with the gorgeous back yard, which we linked through colour to the living area.
